Valentine's Day To Go Box

TGIF!! I have a cute project to share today and I am also happy to share that this is my first project for the   Peachy Keen Blog. I had so much fun creating this cute Valentine's Day To Go Box using my Peachy Keen Stamps. It will eventually go to my oldest son. I am looking forward to seeing his face as he opens each felt fortune cookie.

I stamped and paper pieced the panda bear from PK-159 Thinking of You Bear. Then, I added hearts around the eyes. They were cut around 3/4 of an inch using the Cricut and Cricut Craft Room. Lastly, I stamped on the word LOVE from the PKSC-13 January 2013 onto the bear's heart.

The lanterns were stamped and paper pieced from the PKSC-05 May 2012. They were then embossed with a Cuttlebug Oriental Weave folder. I cut out the small hearts (Owl Stampin' Up Punch), glued them on, and tied the lanterns together with twine. They were adhered to the handle using mini-glue dots.

The sentiment from PKSC-13 January 2013 was stamped on the banner using Red Pigment Ink. The button and ribbon were from my personal stash. The chopsticks embellishment was stamped and paper pieced from PKSC-01 January 2012. I then colored in the flowers using my Copic markers. I finished by adding a small face on the heart from PK-112 Cherub faces assortment.

The Hershey kiss bottoms were cut slightly less than an inch and stamped with the heart, lips, and s.w.a.k. from PKSC-13 January 2013. The fortunes were stamped and then cut out from PKSC-01 & 13 January 2012/2013 as well. In each felt fortune cookie I placed two Hershey kisses and a Peachy Keen Valentine's Day sentiment.

The felt fortune cookies were pretty simple to put together. First you need to cut 4 1/2 inch circles out of felt. I used my Cuttlebug along with my largest circle spellbinder die. I folded the felt in half and this cut out two circles at a time. Though sometimes I would have to take scissors to completely cut out the second one. This was a lot faster than tracing the circles and then cutting them out.

For the next step you will need an adhesive, wire (I used floral wire), wire cutters, and ribbon. If you choose you can make the ribbon the same color as your felt. I did not since my little guy isn't too picky when it comes to those things. Please excuse the transformer piece in the picture. That is not needed to complete this project. Lol!

Cut a piece of wire and glue it to the center of the felt circle.

Then cut your piece of ribbon a little longer than the length of the wire and then glue it on top.

Let them sit for about 30 minutes.

While they were drying I glued on the Hershey kiss bottoms.

I stamped on regular printer paper all of the Valentine's Day sentiments for the fortunes and then cut them out.

Once dry you fold them in half and bend it down the middle to get the fortune cookie shape.

As stated before, I inserted two Hershey Kisses and a Peachy Keen Valentine's Day sentiment into each felt fortune cookie

For my project I decided to make a birthday bear using the January 2013 Stamp of the Month and the two bear add on sets. I just love how he turned out!

I used the head and part of the body from the PK January 2013 SOTM bear for the main structure of him. Then, I stamped on the face which is also from the PK January 2013 SOTM. I thought it looked like the perfect face for blowing out a candle. Next, I paper pieced the bear's upper paws from the PK-159 Thinking of you Bear and his legs. Lastly, I paper pieced the bear's lower paws from the PK-158 Get Well Bear. You can see below in the picture most of the parts before I pieced them together.

His party hat and cute cupcake are from the April SOTM 2012. The candle and sentiment are from the April 2012 add on set: PK-106 With a Cherry On Top.

I loved him so much that I made another birthday bear to share too.

This card used the January SOTM 2012 for the bear, face, and confetti. The January 2013 add on set PK-161 Happy Birthday-Big for the sentiments and April 2012 add on set PK-105 Happy Hour for the cute cupcake. As well as the April 2012 SOTM for the hat.

I hope you've found some inspirations from my cards and happy creating! Looking forward to seeing your projects for the PK Sketch Challenge #2.
